Hello people! Was wondering, do any of y’all ever just wake up with a mind full of questions and all you want are some immediate answers? That was me yesterday morning! You know, the questionable things going on in your life that keep you wanting reason. You’d just LOVE to know the answer to all of your ‘why?’ questions. I have such a strong desire to understand everything. I just NEED to know WHY!
Some examples of my frequently asked questions would be:
- Why hasn’t this worked out?
- Why is this person acting this way? (Lol)
- Why is it taking so long?
- Why am I not there yet?
#STOP Hannah.
It’s after I drive myself a little crazy that I always come back to the fact that the answer I’m looking for cannot be found this way. Questioning where I am or why I am there simply won’t get me any closer to where I want to be and it sure won’t speed up the process.
Asking God all these questions can be just as annoying and unsatisfying as it is to have bad internet connection and you just can’t get your search results to pull up!! You know, we go to the “all-knowing” source looking for answers but sometimes the answers just aren’t immediate, like how we would prefer. You’re frustrated because you know good and well they have the answer you want lol.
Confession time: I’m Hannah and I get tired of wondering.
But in my moments of skepticism, I feel God questioning me:
- Why do you need to know?
- If I already know the answer, can’t you trust me even though you yourself don’t know?
- Are you searching more for the answers to your questions than you’re searching for me?
That last question REALLLLY got me. When I woke up, my mind ran to questions rather than just running to God in faith. My mind started seeking answers rather than seeking the one who knows everything.
Jesus IS the answer.
Instead of seeking answers to your ‘whys.’ Seek Jesus FIRST. Everything else will come along WITH Him!!!
Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
He WILL answer.
Do you trust that He will answer? Many times I’ll voice what I’m worried about but at the same time, I know God is able. The other day my mom made the statement, “You know that He can, you just worry if He will.”
I know that God has all the answers but I worry if He will give them to me. Honestly, many times He answers, just not the way I expected. That’s okay.
Also, did you ever think that He may be withholding your answers because you’re not ready to receive them yet? He’s a protective God like that, you know?
Let me tell you something; you know as much as God wants you to know today. You can depend on Him to provide the perfect amount of information needed for this very day. You know enough for the time being, rest in that.
Exodus 16:4
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Look, I’m going to rain down food from heaven for you. Each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they need for that day. I will test them in this to see whether or not they will follow my instructions.
Let’s put this verse into practice by following God’s instruction; let’s only pick up as much as we need for today. I want to allow God’s supply of information to be enough for me, don’t you? Now, I’m going to live the rest of this day in peace because I don’t have to know everything!
