Hiiii everyone!! Guess what?! The dynamics of this blog are about to change… again!! Just want to inform y’all, during every one of my little “leave of absences” from this blog, I’m seeking direction from God ABOUT this blog haha! During my month long blogging break, I realized that the dynamics needed some changing around here, and by that, I mean I’m about to become a bit more spontaneous with my posting. Basically, what God has been laying on my heart to do is super simple: write what He tells me, don’t over-complicate it, and forget a schedule!
My vision: if God speaks it to me, I want you to hear about it and I’m soooo excited to share these words!! Things are about to get a little less edited and even more real. So, be expecting more posts, some may be longer than others but it’ll be what God spoke to me within that same day or the previous day!
I just started studying the book of 1 Corinthians and in chapter 2 Paul talks about letting the power of the Holy Spirit speak through him, instead of speaking from human wisdom:
1 Corinthians 2:1-5
When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan.For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified. I came to you in weakness—timid and trembling. And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.
This is what I want to do:
- Forget trying to impress myself or others.
- Forget everything except Jesus.
- Forget my weaknesses and allow God’s strength and truth to be enough to sustain me.
- Forget attempting to make everything more complex than it has to be but instead, keep things plain and simple.
- Forget about my human wisdom and to solely rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to equip me with the right words to share with you all.
1 Corinthians 2:13
When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.
THAT is exactly what I want to do!! I want to speak the words given to me by the Lord, using His words (not my own) to explain spiritual truths!! Sooooo, be expecting random, casual, and more frequent posts talking about my moments with God and the words He lays on my heart. So many times I find myself conversing with others about the good things Jesus has been teaching me, and I’m usually squealing from excitement while saying, “OH SHOOT, we LOVE a good word from God.” or “GURLLLL, we love a good word from God! Lemme tell you ALL about it!!!”
Yes, that’s who I am and how I am haha! I want you and I to have that moment together, I want you to be more than an audience but a friend I encourage by telling you how the Lord is enlightening me everyday! It’s a journey and I want you to come and share the excitement with me! I hope to start writing more like how how I talk! Yes, that means a lot of words will be in all caps, quite a few exclamation points will be used, grammar may not always be correct and text language will be included. If I’m being honest, I say “lol” out loud… as a word, allll the time!! I want you guys to know my personality even if you can’t hear me audibly haha!! Thank you to everyone reading this right now, you’re a real one lol!
